San José Public Library is excited to offer our newest program, SJPL Cosplay On Display to celebrate the creative ingenuity that is costume play, or cosplay, in our community while featuring an SJPL card design. The 2023 Cosplay on Display is open to all California residents and participants of all ages.

Submit 1-3 photos of yourself or a group of people in cosplay. All photos must feature a visible front design of a San José Public Library Card. Get your free library card and become a member at any SJPL location during operating hours. Visit https://www.sjpl.org/membership for more details.
Each photo submission must be the creative and original work of the submitting creator and/or group featured. San José Public Library reserves the right to reproduce your work. You can reuse all your pictures at any time for other purposes. Complete the SJPL Cosplay on Display 2023 Entry Form. Entries submitted without a complete SJPL Cosplay on Display 2023 Entry Form will be ineligible. For submissions featuring more than one cosplayer, each cosplayer must provide a SJPL Cosplay on Display 2023 Entry Form with their submission.
Entries can only be submitted virtually. To submit an entry please use the BiblioBoard Portal (https://sanjose.librariesshare.com/cosplayondisplay) or email your submission (graphicnovels@sjlibrary.org) as a JPEG, PNG, or GIF attachment. Entries must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM on Saturday, August 12th, 2023.
There is a limit of three photo submissions per cosplayer.
Entries chosen by SJPL Staff will be showcased during a Graphic Novel Making Contest Awards Ceremony on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 as part of “Staff Picks.”

Participants in the Cosplay on Display program will be able to claim their Participation Gift during the Graphic Novel Making Contest Ceremony on Saturday, September 9th, from 2-4 PM at the Seven Trees Community Center. Cosplay entries will be featured during the Graphic Novel Making Contest. Cosplay attire is encouraged during the Graphic Novel Making Contest Ceremony.
San José Public Library reserves the right to refuse submissions that are not appropriate for a general audience. San José Public Library staff members are eligible to participate.
This is not a contest. This program is open to all California residents.
